Conibear Rowing Club offers novice classes for beginning rowers every spring or early summer. Our classes introduce women (21 years of age and older) to the pleasures of rowing while helping them build basic skills and techniques so they can comfortably continue rowing with the club upon completion of the class.
2008 Class Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, from 6:00 - 7:30 a.m., beginning May 5 until June 2nd.
Where: At the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center 3800 Lake Washington Boulevard South (just south of the I-90 bridge)
Cost: $110.00, payable to the Boating Council. Mail check to Marie Westermeier, 5249 South Mayflower St., Seattle, WA 98118. Please include phone number and email address on your check.
Questions: Contact Marie Westermeier (206) 723-9363.
Note: We reserve the right to cancel with notice to participants if we have insufficient enrollment. Each participant must pass a Float test prior to the first class. A float test may be taken at most swimming pools under the supervision of a certified lifeguard.
Novice classes for adults are also offered by Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center throughout the year. The classes prepare rowers to continue rowing either recreationally or competitively in the adult co-ed rowing program at the Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center, or to join a private rowing club such as Conibear. For more information, contact the Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center office at 206-386-1913.
