An open letter to Conibears,

Many Conibears attended the March 29th presentation about the Mt. Baker Boathouse Expansion Project and participated in the lively discussion that followed. Everyone was enthusiastic about the plans for bigger and better facilities and programs that will benefit rowers, sailors, canoeists, sail boarders, and kayakers. Click here to see details about the presentation and the $1.8 million campaign.

We are now asking Conibears to pledge a contribution to the capital campaign to support the development of a first-rate facility with all the amenities we have longed for. Rowing has certainly meant a lot to all of us. Just think what a difference an expanded facility will mean for future generations of youth and adults who will enjoy a safer, more suitable facility for their boating experience! We can be part of this public legacy.

By stepping up now, Conibear will help build momentum for the campaign and show foundations and other potential contributors that there is significant support for the project among the facility's current users. With our support, we can help leverage future gifts to the campaign.

It is heartwarming to know that Conibear has embraced the project and decided at its recent business meeting on an ambitious goal of raising at least $50,000, with 100% club participation, to support the Boathouse Expansion Capital Campaign. We based this goal on several sizable pledges already made and on information gathered from a survey taken at the March 29th event. We are confident our goal is within reach. Every time we pull together as a team, Conibear achieves big results.

We appreciate your joining with other Conibears in considering a generous donation to this exciting project. Remember that your gift does not have to be fully paid until March 2005. Click here for pledge form for your convenience. We are hoping to receive notification of Conibear pledges by May 15th.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either one of us.

Sincerely,

Margaret Philbrick
